Picture: Wilford's Threewingnut or Thunder God Vine (Tripterygium wilfordii), a vigorous, scrambling, deciduous vine. It is native to Taiwan, nearby parts of southern China and the highlands of northern Burma. The panicles of tiny cream flowers open in midsummer and are followed by small, green, three-winged seed capsules that redden when mature. Extracts of this plant are being tested for a variety of medicinal uses. Botanical Stock Photos is more than just a photo library. Because our Tripterygium photos are accurately named, identified and fully captioned it is also an identification guide for Tripterygium and a source of horticultural information for your gardening.
