Picture: Strelitzia reginae 'Mandela's Gold' (syn. 'Mandela Gold'), a cultivar of the Bird of Paradise or Crane Flower, an evergreen, clump-forming South African perennial notable for its striking flowers. The flowers of 'Mandela's Gold' tend more towards yellow that the bright orange of the species. It was developed by John Winter at the National Botanic Gardens at Kirstenbosch in South Africa and was originally released as 'Kirstenbosch Gold'.
